The diagram above shows the six major steps that made up the Woodhaven Neighborhood Redevelopment Plan process, with input from the steering committee and community guiding each step. Although there have been several planning efforts focused on the Woodhaven Neighborhood over the past decade, the process for this study was designed to ensure that the conclusions and recommendations were based on fresh information and ideas. This report mirrors this process.
The next chapter presents the findings from the background
research and existing conditions analysis, which includes
physical conditions, land use, demographics, and market
research. The results from the community input exercises are
shown, as well as more detailed information about particular
issues that became the focus of the redevelopment plan. The
third chapter presents several redevelopment scenarios and the
community-driven planning concepts that guided them. The final
chapter outlines the implementation strategy for a "catalyst,"
or phase one project.
