The Woodhaven Benefit Golf Tournament is hosted annually by Woodhaven Country Club, Woodhaven Neighborhood Association, Inc. and Woodhaven Community Development, Inc. The Club is managed by Pegasus Golf Management, LLC. The Neighborhood Association, founded in 1989, represents Woodhaven residents, owners & managers of apartment complexes and local businesses. The Community Development Corporation was established in 1998 by residents and business leaders in the area for the purpose of promoting the economic welfare of the greater Woodhaven area.
The tournament benefits east Fort Worth students by offering scholarships to Texas universities and colleges, by providing funds to local university golf programs and by supporting special educational needs of the Fort Worth East Regional Library that are not covered by the City budget.
Woodhaven Benefit Account
The Woodhaven Benefit Account was created in 1998 to support special educational needs of the east Fort Worth community. It is financially supported by the annual Woodhaven Benefit Golf Tournament. The tournament is hosted by Woodhaven Community Development, Inc., Woodhaven Country Club and Woodhaven Neighborhood Association, Inc.
A committee consisting of representatives from the three tournament hosts and two Woodhaven residents was formed for the allocation of the funds.
Woodhaven Benefit Scholarships are available to east Fort Worth high school seniors who would attend Texas colleges and universities. $1,000 scholarships are awarded to qualified students who would attend four-year institutions; $500 scholarships for two-year schools. The funds can be used for college tuition, educational fees, equipment and supplies, as well as on-campus boarding expenses. For additional information on the scholarship program, please contact the counselor at your local high school.
Woodhaven Benefit Grants are also available to pay expenses in direct support of a local college or university's golf program and to fund special educational needs of the East Regional Library that are not included in the City's operating budget.
